Each of us possesses a name . It was a name given to us by our parents. Perhaps we were named after some relative, famous people, or we were just given a name that our parents liked. But the name of "Jesus" stands above all other names. Because it is a special name, it was a name handpicked by God.The name Jesus was not given by Mary and Joseph, it came directly from God himself.. So when we utter the name "Jesus", we are not just speaking of an ordinary name. This is the name that God gave HIM which is above every name.
Names have always means something even to God. The name Jesus means "Jehovah is Salvation". By its very definition, the name of Jesus speaks about salvation.Why is He named Jesus or Salvation? For the very reason that He saves His people from their sins. It is in His name and His name alone that salvation is to be found. Acts 4:12 "No other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved...." You can not be saved by some other man's name. If you are going to be saved the only power that God has given is the name of Jesus Christ. You could call on all the names of the heroes, idols, etc and it would not save you. Because salvation is only found in the name of Jesus. Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
There are people that claimed to have an association with Christ but they do not wear the name of Christ. If you have to be recognized as connected with Christ, you have to wear His name. The name signifies to whom you belong. It's like in school uniforms if you are claiming that you are a student from de La Salle and yet you are wearing the school uniform of FEU or UP, who would believe you? No one. Some religions say that " Even though were not wearing His name, we still serve Him" Look at Colosians 3:17 let me show you, You can not serve God or do so under another name. Bible tells in Col 3:17(KJV) And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him." In everything that we do must be centered upon exalting the name of Jesus. If we cannot do something in His Name, most likely we should not do it.
When it comes to what name you should wear , ask yourself a question. Who was crucified for your sake? Is it your president? your hero? your idol? No, For there is only one man who comes into this world manifest in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory(1 Timothy 3:16) And His name is Jesus Christ. God will not leave us in the pit of sin. If we are His people, then He is our savior.
